The Face of Satisfaction

Mathias is always pretty satisfied after getting a yummy treat like an Oreo. He gets even more excited at the prospect of playing in the water while he gets hosed down.

Mathias loves the water and plays in it every chance he gets. Last night we had a good sized thunderstorm and it was raining pretty hard. Brian took Mathias out on the deck so he could see the rain. There was a trickle of water falling right in front of Mathias and he was having a ball kicking the stream of water and getting drenched in the process.

Standing Up!

Not long after he started crawling, Mathias started pulling himself up on furniture. He is starting to 'cruise' along the couch and is almost always on his tip toes.

Mathias started crawling a few days ago. As you can see, he is pretty happy about it.

Trouble

Mathias is such a busy kid. He tries to climb on anything he can. I caught him trying to climb up on the book shelf. He thought it was pretty funny.

Distracted Eater

Mathias gets so distracted when he eats making it difficult to feed him. On Sunday he would not turn around for anything. He sat like this for about 10 minutes trying to see what was going on behind him. The only logical thing to do was take his picture. :)

We went to Idaho Falls, ID the weekend following the 4th of July and had a lot of fun playing with my family. The whole family was there, 13 kids and 10 adults. These pictures were taken at my sister Amy's backyard pool. Mathias loves being in the water and watch the other kids play.

Extra! Extra!

Mathias is getting into everything! He is army crawling now but is working on getting onto his hands and knees. He gets into everything he can and tries to climb when he can get away with it. When I was taking these pictures he was too tempted by my flowers not to try and pull them out of the pot. I think the look on his face says it all.

Rainy Day

I'm so excited!

Mathias is FINALLY laughing more freely. He thinks he is pretty funny and will start giggling at himself.

Mathias and I were getting ready to go to the store on a rainy day and I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of him in his finger puppet sweater. Brian gives me a hard time for taking so many pictures, but I can't help it! (It must be a first-time mom thing).

Crab Walk

This is how Mathias prefers to get around, the crab walk. He arches his back, lifts his hips and shoulders off the floor then pushes with his feet. He has a big bald spot on the back of his head from doing this. It is pretty funny to watch and he is getting really fast going across the room.

Mathias is getting so big so fast! At his last check up he was 27 inches tall and 15 pounds 11 ounces. Tall and skinny for his age. I don't know where the time has gone. It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital and now he is 7 months old. He is so curious and he is able to move around on his own. He can finally sit up on his own and loves to ride in the shopping cart at the store. Mathias doesn't crawl yet but he rolls across the floor and will scoot on the back of his head to where ever he wants to be. It is pretty entertaining to watch. He still won't laugh much but he is a happy kid and we love him so much. He has brought so much happiness into our home.
