Dirty Look

One dirty look!

Mathias got into the coat closet and was giving me dirty looks for finding him and taking his picture.

Busy Ball Popper

Grammy and Papa gave Mathias this toy and he loves it! He is such a serious (but happy) kid that it is hard to get him this excited about anything. (The funny part is about 10 seconds in.) Brian and I have just as much fun watching him play. (He usually screams more than this, but this is the best video we have been able to get of it. Mathias gets too distracted by the camera.)

One Year Old

I took Mathias to have his one year old pictures taken today. As usual, it took forever to get Mathias to crack a smile. He finally gave in and his pictures turned out really cute. (For some reason the pictures are not cropped on the CD.)

Tootsie Pop

We let Mathias have a sucker after his hard work. He loved it--purple tongue and all!

Trick-or-Treat!

We took Mathias Trick-or-Treating. He had fun with Dad and he was holding his pumpkin out for candy. He had quite the haul for only knocking on four doors! As you can see, Mathias was pleased with his work.

Monkey to Wookie

Mathias started out being a monkey for Halloween but once I finished the costume, it was too furry for a monkey and looked more like a wookie. I made a new hat without ears and a belt to hold his ammo.

Clean Up

Brian put Mathias in the sink to hose him down. We gave him a bath after the party.

I Want Chocolate Cake!

Mathias was hesitant at first but then he really dug in! He was crazy on his sugar high and it took a few hours to settle him down enough to go to bed. That's allowed on his birthday, right?

Mathias got this cake all to himself!

I had a fun time making these cakes. It took all day and my hand was stiff the next morning, but I think they turned out pretty cute.

We celebrated Mathias' first birthday over the weekend with a costume party. All of the kids looked pretty cute. We missed Seth's picture but got him on video. Sorry Seth. It was a little crowded but we had a good time and Mathias loved playing with his cousins. I can't believe Mathias is one already! How time flies.
