Mommy's Boots

Mathias likes to put our shoes on and try to walk around. This time it was my snow boots. Silly kid.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a fun holiday. We sure did. We stayed home this year and Mathias was a lot of fun. He really enjoyed opening all of his gifts and had to play with each one after he opened it. We missed being able to spend time with our families but still had a nice day.

Christmas Morning

Mathias just woke up and wasn't too sure what to think yet.
Snuggling with Daddy.

Dinosaur!

So excited for his car track.

One spoiled little boy.

Christmas Shoes

Me at 27 weeks.

Christmas Shoes!

Drums

Opening Drums.

Mathias also wanted drums for Christmas. He loves them and thankfully they have volume control. Watch his eyes in the video.

Dancing Dinos

Mathias making his Dinosaurs dance to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Barbage Truck!!!

Mathias asked Santa for a "Barbage Truck" and was so excited when he opened it he could barely get his words out. It has been one of his favorite things to play with today.

Watching the Snow

The only thing he has eaten today is chocolate. As soon as I wipe his mouth off there is more chocolate on it. I hope he doesn't get sick.

Mathias made himself comfortable on his toy box and the computer chair while he was watching the snow fall outside.

Santa!

I took Mathias to see Santa today and he was so excited to see Santa until we actually saw Santa.
Checking out Santa
Looking at Mom from the corner of his eye to see if it was OK.

Finally talking to Santa asking him for a garbage truck, a monster and drums.

I couldn't get a smile out of him, this was the best I could get.

Snow!

It finally snowed and stuck around long enough to take Mathias outside to build a snowman. Unfortunately the snow was too dry to pack very well but Mathias still loved throwing snow.
Mathias and Mommy getting bundled up.

Mathias wasn't too sure what to think of his snow pants, boots, mittens and hat.

He loved playing in the snow.

Throwing a snowball at Daddy.

Mathias didn't even cry when he did a face-plant in the snow. He just got back up and started throwing more snow.

Mathias was mad when I made him come inside but I was freezing!

Random Pictures

My curly haired, brown eyed boy.

Brian will probably kill me for putting this one on. :)

We bought a new filter for our camera lens and these are some of the cute pictures I captured while trying to figure out the camera and lighting.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We spent Thanksgiving at home this year since Brian had to work on Black Friday. I cooked the meal all by myself for the first time with the exception of Brian and Mathias peeling the potatoes. Everything turned out really good and I didn't even burn anything! I even kept up with most of the mess which was amazing. We had a nice quiet day and enjoyed the time together as a family. Mathias surprised us be eating a ton of turkey. He usually will not touch meat. He kept asking for more 'gobble, gobble.'

Watching The Incredibles

The other morning Mathias would not eat his breakfast until I put in 'The Incredibles.' He put some of his favorite stuffed animals on the couch to watch it with him. He's pretty into the movie if you can't tell. :)

Two Year Olds....

What do you do when your two year old figures out how to use the DVD player? Last night Mathias decided he wanted to watch The Incredibles and since he watches it EVERY day, we are sick of listening to it. We kept telling him no so he started it himself. He got out the DVD, turned on the DVD player and TV then opened the DVD player and put in the DVD. After that Brian decided Mathias needed help so that he wouldn't break anything.

Penny Update

We still have not seen the penny Mathias swallowed four weeks ago. I think we must have just missed it in our search. I took him in for his two year old well check today and the doctor said not to worry about it. She said we probably just missed it and where Mathias's digestive system is still functioning without problems there is no cause for concern. So ends the search for the elusive penny.

Mathias is still tiny for his age. He is still under 25 pounds and in the 7th percentile for weight. He is in the 32nd percentile for height so he is tall and skinny. He is healthy and happy and for that I am grateful. The doctor was also impressed by how well he talks and puts words together.

Fun in a Box

Why do we spend money on toys when Mathias can have just as much fun playing in an empty box.

Stickers

This is what you're supposed to do with stickers, right?

Bye Bye Bottle!

Mathias has made another big step toward becoming a 'big boy'. He still had his bottle before bed (don't worry about his teeth, I NEVER let him sleep with a bottle) and the other night I tried giving him a sippy cup instead. No protest from Mathias whatsoever! I was worried that we were going to have a difficult time getting rid of his bottle but it was easier than I thought. Knock on wood. :) The only thing is we have to call his sippy cup a bottle but I don't mind that at all.

Just in case anyone was wondering, we still have not seen the penny Mathias swallowed. It will be three weeks on Wednesday. Hopefully we just missed it in our search. He has a well check next week so I'll ask the doctor about it.

It's a Boy!

We are having another boy and couldn't be happier about it!

This is a shot of his bum. His boy parts are sticking out in between the legs.
(Right above where it says 'boy')
Our baby's profile.
Now we just need to come up with a name. I can't wait until this little guy is born and we can hold him and give him kisses. Mathias doesn't really know what is going on but I think he will be a great big brother. He is so sweet and gentle with babies.

Vacuum

Mathias LOVES to vacuum! He was always stealing the attachments to my vacuum so we used some of his birthday money to buy him his own. This one really works too, well sort of. It will pick up some lint but that is about it. Mathias vacuumed for hours when we first brought it home and was so mad at me when I made him stop to take a nap. The first thing he wanted to do when he woke up today was vacuum. I just hope this obsession sticks when he has to vacuum for real.

Halloween

I made Mathias a monkey costume this year but it still was not very recognizable as a monkey. He was mistaken for an ewok and several other animals at the trunk or treat but he was still adorable.

Lauren's costume was a hoot.

So serious.
