Mathias Meets Nickolas

Here is a short video of Mathias meeting Nickolas for the first time.

60 Years From Today

All morning I've been wondering what Nickolas will look like when he gets older. So, started browsing the internet for one of those aging programs. That way I could just throw a picture of him in there and see what he will look like later in life. It took me a while but I found a good program that was used by police. Anyway, here is what he will look like in 60 years.

Big Boy in a Little Bed

While Brian has been gone I have been trying to get everything out, cleaned and ready for the baby. Today I got out the bassinet so I can wash it and Mathias thought it was fun to get in and play. I thought it was funny that Mathias can still fit in it--he's so tiny for his age!

We're Moving!

Most of you already know that Brian got a new job with General Electric and we will be moving to Montana after the baby is born and we can find a house up there. We are excited for the change but I hate the actual moving part. Brian left early this morning for Montana and will be gone for two weeks. I miss him already. Let's just hope this baby boy doesn't decide to come while Brian is gone.

Why Bother???

Why do we bother buying toys when an empty box provides days of entertainment?

Blackmail...

I don't know why Mathias likes to wear my shoes, but it is pretty funny when he does.

Sigh...

I was changing my clothes after church today when Mathias walked into my closet, looked at me standing there in my skives and told me I look like Frosty the Snowman.

The Burger King

Fake Smile
This is the closest we got to a real smile.

Making Faces

So Serious
Today we went to lunch with an old friend from high school. It was so fun to see my friend and catch up from the last few years. Mathias had fun playing at Burger King and when he put on his crown he pulled it down over his ears.

What Did You Say?

I just realized that it has been a while since I have updated our blog. Strangely, I don't have any new pictures to post at the moment but thought I would share a funny little story about Mathias.

Mathias loves animals and has an awesome animal collection. Most of his stuffed animals are not the traditional ones you would find in a child's collection. (He has a ferret, mole, rat, rhinoceros, elephant, etc.) Last week we made a trip to IKEA and found a mommy fox with a baby. Mathias grabbed onto it and was snuggling with it all through the store so I had to buy it for him. Well, Mathias being a two year old doesn't have the best pronunciation of some sounds and the letter x comes out with a 'ck' sound. So, when he says "fox" it sounds like the f-word. He loves his fox and is always asking me where his mommy fox is and the tiny fox is. The other night his fox and puppy were on the floor and I asked him if he wanted them for bed and this is what he yelled, "fox, puppy!" (Well, you know what it sounded like.) Brian and I were laughing so hard we didn't know what to do! I just hope he can get his speech right before someone thinks we are teaching him vulgar language. In the mean time, I guess it is a good laugh. :)

I've Been Dreaming...

I have been dreaming of owning a Chi hair straightener ever since my hair stylist first used one on my hair about five years ago. I was not willing to pay $180 for a hair appliance so I have gone without my Chi for the last few years. Right before Christmas I found one for less than half price and Brian said I could order it for Christmas. I was so excited just to place the order! My Chi arrived today and even though I have not used it yet, I am excited just to have it sitting on my bathroom counter while it awaits its maiden voyage in the morning. I know it will be wonderful. It's the little things that make me happy. :)
